Hiriketiya Bay

Hiriketiya Bay's distinctive shape and underwater topography allow for surfable conditions nearly ten months a year. In the peak season, from December to May, smaller swells from the west produce ideal beginner-friendly beach breaks, along with occasional opportunities to ride the left point break. During the shoulder season, from August to November, the waves reach their prime as the midyear swell diminishes, forming clean beach breaks and a smooth left point break. Midyear, when the crowds disappear, larger swells from the south roll in, bringing fun yet more demanding waves across the entire bay.
